For those who have an account on other auto forums sites its time to check your settings and maybe change passwords ==>

Hackers steal 45 million accounts from hundreds of Verticalscope car tech forums

Thats what they get running the cheap shows by outdated insecure software.

Most were running software versions that were easily exploitable by hackers with known vulnerabilities. A blog post from security reporter Brian Krebs from 2013 showed that older versions of the vBulletin forums that were vulnerable could be easily searched with readily-available attack tools."

No one should be really surprised.....

Cortana can't be turned off in latest W10 anniversary update

Cortana is suppose to be digital assistant but it is indeed a tool to spy on you through the computer how you use it, behave and live. The ultimate privacy thief if we want to be more cynical about it.

Just remember, when something is free it means you are the product!

W10 anniversary update breaks most webcams

Nothing like a compulsory upgrade ruining your hardware or software. Good on ya Micro$oft™.....

This guy is MS biggest fan and he's clearly unimpressed ==>

MS broke millions of webcams with its latest update

There is a registry hack to fix this break but if you aren't even sure what registry is then good luck to you.

Now for those more conspiracy minded, MS has changed the way the webcam access is handled in Windows, in the old ways only 1 application at the time would be granted the access to the device. Now there is a server running to access the camera and the applications can access the server concurrently.

The way to look at it is, if I wanted to maliciously exploit this say "eavesdropping" on your camera while you are happily chatting on Skype you'd be none wiser as I'd be able to connect to the server without you knowing....

Makes me wonder.....

ISPs start collecting customer metadata, VPN even more important

As I'm thinking about this I'm becoming more and more furious about this intrusion and outright spying. It gives me a sick feeling that those ruling class fcukers and their police dogs have simply passed a law for which they had no mandate and never put it to a popular vote (referendum).

Make no mistake this will blow back at the rulling swines with the vengeance one can only hope. As someone said once before "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Well, kinda yes, however SSL doesn't hide the intitial connection so while content is encrypted the address is not. VPN is the only way so far. I had a look and the hassle is simply not worth it as well as paying for it is annoying to say a least.

I do find it unacceptable because as they build profiles and association all that data will be used against us in near future. If you ask people to voluntary submit to GPS trackers collars they would tell you to bugger off but essentially mobile devices metadata does the same thing. These fcukers will know where you've been, who you communicate with, what you read, write and think. Ultimate enslavement. "Freedom is slavery, war is peace" there is no escape under such regime and any attempt to fight it will fail. Just wait until they legislate full control of our finances (cash abolition) which is on the way next and then we are all well truly fcuked. I feel sorry for the next generations to come. There is no point pretending anymore.
