Evil! Posted August 10, 2012 Author Report Posted August 10, 2012 New Armadas in the front of the old girl, top bolt has been drilled and pinned to stop it pulling out of its tread and went with eye lowers and welded in a new bracket to allow the shock to pivot nicer when flexing. tailpipez 1
brando4x4 Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 The ute looks awesome Looks like you might need some extended bumpstops mate
Evil! Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Posted August 16, 2012 yeah i have no intention on driving it har just yet till i make some bump extensions. Mainly just want to make sure iv got the setup good before finalizing the setup
Evil! Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Posted August 16, 2012 Did a little bar work myself over the week, basically looks the same but has all new thicker pipe work and thicker center to hold a winch now. Firstly i cut all the pipe work off and then raised the bar 30mm and pushed it closer to the grill by 15mm to get it sitting perfectly, then i bent up some 45mm pipe at 4mm thick for the main wings that wrap around the guards (this was the main reason to redo the bar work as the old setup stopped at the corner of the grill), then cut and notched some 30mm by 4mm thick pipe for the bracing under and behind the 45mm wings, next setup was to cut out all the old plate work which was only 2mm thick and replace it with 6mm plate that wrapped all the way under and back onto the mounts for added strength in the mounting. I also slotted and straightened out the spottie plate onto which i was originally going to cut away for access to the low mount and weld tabs to the main hoop for the spotties but decided against that as i am in my spare time going to try and build a full tube bar to hold a high mount or low mount that will sit in closer to the grill again for comp use. Some quick pictures of before and during to the finished product. tailpipez and KMsMK 2

Evil! Posted August 24, 2012 Author Report Posted August 24, 2012 The time has come to start my coilover conversion in the rear end, as a start iv dropped the tray, fuel tank ect to make room to work and have started cutting off all the standard mounts, also found some small rust in the rear wall ill fix while im there. Only have left to cut out the coil towers and i can get the grinder out and start cleaning the rails so when my coilovers show up early next week i can start fabbig up new towers for them couple quick snaps No turning back now lol tailpipez and BigGQWesty 2
Evil! Nearly all cleaned up mock up of the coilovers positioning and angles

Evil! Posted September 7, 2012 Author Report Posted September 7, 2012 Here ya go BigGQWesty the coilovers are in the final stages now and hoops are made and tacked onto the chassis ready and waiting for me to weld it all up but this will show you how much higher they sit now with the new tubes, ill also tomorrow take a picture with the cover off the back of my truck to see how far below the window they are. brando4x4 Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Awesome job mate this things got heaps of flex is this truck engineered for its suspension mods?
Evil! Posted September 8, 2012 Author Report Posted September 8, 2012 Not as of yet Brando, once iv finished everything, so thats coilovers front and rear and changing to tri uppers on rear with longer lowers the lot will be engineered at once to save me time and some money instead of doing it in indervidual steps, as it sits its mod plated for cab chop, 35" tyres, the 4" coil lift and 2" body lift.
BigGQWesty Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 (edited) You got a 2' cab lift passed??? Dam you have a nice engineer.. Edited September 8, 2012 by BigGQWesty
Evil! Posted September 28, 2012 Author Report Posted September 28, 2012 Ok for anyone interested got my coilovers finished today, couple of quick snaps will go up as i was in such a rush to get it finished i didnt get many progress snaps sorry for that. I started with this idea but got stuffed around with the guys who where going to laser cut everything for me so had a last minute change of idea. Now it looks like this Little flex up just to make sure everything is working how it should tailpipez 1
