Hey guys

Just went out to change the front diff oil on my 1988 nissan safari

Dropped oil into a measured can and frount diff had 8.4L in it

Have had problems with this truck making funny noises from thw front would this be the problem as manual says fill up to 5.4L

Any help would be much appreciated

Possibly not but one never knows, it could cause leaks at swivel joints, or if you had open diff breather. Noise could be caused by incorrect type of oil used as well.

Cheers

Yea I've recently done mine and it took smack on 5L..

That was slightly up hill to..

Well 8 is a shoit load more..

What was the level like? Did you crack the front plug?

The level should sit just under the front plug, hopefully previous owner hasn't filled filled the diff lol..

What sorta issues are you having??
