So the water runs sideways toward the wheel arch? Thats a bloody clever idea. Ill be doing the same

Very nice tip and thanks for the pics!

No in towards middle of vehicle. Silicone up next to the guards so the water has to go that way.

Ive got the booster out, much easier to work on the issue now.

I even have a suspicion that it could even be leaking thru there as the gasket is completely shot.

Some pics of the brake booster removed and the grommet flooded with silicone, also a pic of the grommet inside with waterproof spray foam. That foam stuff is the ducks nuts

Yeah its a wrestle. The easy way would be to drain the brake fluid and remove master cylinder (im not confident in that). I opted to remove the fuel filter bracket and wrestle the booster out.

The top right nut on the inside of the truck is an absolute bastard, zero room for hands.

I have a 2006 Patrol with a persistently wet footwell on the drivers side. How do I get the cover off below the windscreen to look down onto the firewall?

Here you go fella....

There is a row of screws (just behind the bonnet seal or where bonnet would seal/sit when closed) and couple plastic clips at the each end of the cowl.

Cheers
