Glort Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 Well, as they say about learning something every day..... I thought Steampunk was more a theme for photographs up till now. I have seen a lot of models photographed in this theme but I had no idea it was a decorating style in itself if you like. Truly amazing stuff. I guess the best bit is, Unlike a lot of decors you could decorate you house with that would be completely out of style in 10 years, this sort of decor would just keep getting more impressive.

That's the thing that captivates me about Steampunk is that there are so many functional aspects to it, but it has a style that really won't age. It's not for everyone's tastes, but few can deny that it is interesting and intriguing at the same time. To be quite honest, moving from a Victorian style house, I could easily live in a Steampunk flavoured one, compared to some of today's modern, lifeless and sterile houses. Cheers Ray

Ray! Posted May 21, 2012 Author Report Posted May 21, 2012 Get it going Ray! Your retired now I'd love to do that, but convincing the other half that it's a good idea would be very difficult, until I sort out quite a few other things. Cheers Ray

Chris Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) I made this in a metal work course I took 12 years ago lol, Surprised I still had it out in the shed. Little rusty though ha ha, Its about the only thing I ever made from scratch. Or this was my bucket class speedway sidecar that I raced for a few years, well made the frame anyway Consisted mostly of Kawasaki Z250 parts and what ever else we could get our hands on from the wreckers. I had to make one of those when I did a similar course and that's over 30 years ago. The other thing we had to make was a screwdriver. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Cheers Ray
