Finished installing x2 camping lights/ reversing lights which runs threw a rely & switch.

Made a bracket with a 25mm off set to raise the lights to nearly above rear toe -bar  out of 40mm x 3mm  aluminium about 400mm long.

Screwed it up across x2 rear bumper bar screws, solid as.

They shouldn't  get hit on departure angle.

Got some pic for you to, thanks to all that help me out in this installation to.

cheers paul

Put new panic handles in, the drivers side didn't have one, so got a pair from the wreckers and replaced the sagging passenger one and added one for the drivers side. Also picked up a bonnet protector and installed it as the screws were already there...

Did you know that bonnet protector interferes with the air flow to the intercooler scoop?

Patrol bonnet scoop is so poorly designed that air will flow in at around 80 km/h + only. However the biggest obstruction/interference is the bull bar.

But it looks good.

The bonnet protector is almost exactly level with the tubing on the bull bar, so hopefully wont make any difference... Plus my EGT's havent changed....

It has been done, few years ago we had a big discussion about the exactly same thing on another Nisan forum. Couple of blokes actually did cover their bonnets with streamers or strands of wool and recorded the videos of the action, some with confirmed results some with other surprises. Basically you would need a wind tunnel for proper testing but the string theory ....pun intended, worked well and confirmed the bull bar and bonnet protector do make things worse.

Intercooler fan can make some difference but only at lower speeds and needs to be underneath the cooler. I had the fan on mine and TBH I couldn't tell the difference. When it started playing up I removed it, not worth the hassle IMHO.

Yeah, the std scoops are rubbish. I got the hell in one morning a few years back and got a scoop extender bent up from some scrap steel plate and then I cut a hole into the standard scoop and bolted the new steel on on top. This basically doubles the area for air to flow in, and is higher so hopefully getting better airflow onto the IC.

One thing I had to be careful of was going too high and as a result obstructing my view over the bonnet.

What I can tell you though is it DID make a difference of about 20 deg C to my EGT's.

I can't find any pics here on my work PC that show the scoop other than these taken when we were traveling in the snow up high in the hills.

Finally fitted the fuel cooler,

thanks Kenco Racing QLD and  Mr Nissan providing some spare mounting holes and Volvo Trucks Corporation Volvo FH cab engine air intake piping rubber spacer it was a breeze to install.

I can see fuel temperatures actually going down when engine load is off instead of just climbing up and up....

Let there be light! I'm speechless comparing the light output of this bar to my rusted old IPF spotties.....

For those interested; Aurora 20" double row combo bar

Thank you Rumcajs, you must have read my mind. 03 GU with ZD30Di. Time to rip it out and see what is to follow. I have reservoir removed already and looks like two bolts and a hose still to remove. Leaking on oil side of pump.

Not so sure if oil is leaking from there now I can see better, might be below the power steering pump (vacuum pump?) Will give her a degrease and turn over to have a better looksy.

Well bugger me. The mechanic in Oakey who rebuilt my motor late last year must have CRAFT's disease (Carnt Remember A F@$%&ing Thing) A bolt holding the steer pump on was loose and the other had several washers on it. Pic below shows the hosing for pump with a crack and the pump drive gear slightly knackered. Whilst finding out my new found problems 3 hose clamps were night tight or on properly and ther is an assortment of bolts and screws missing.

Pondering the thought of not owning a Patrol now.

I can only imagine, totally understand your feelings, nothing worse then dodgy repair causing even more damage. Keep us posted on the outcome.

Replaced front bump stops, got rid off POS Nissan type and fitted ones for LC80 series. Who would have thought, they're cheaper and better than Nissan's.....indeed it is a sacrilege I know,
