Kranwa Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 And how did it go?? There was a blown gasket on the bottom part of the egr pipe, Such a pain in the arse to get to. All done though. Worked ok. Boost gauge isn't reading properly now though.
BigGQWesty Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Yea bugga..Maybe a kink in the line threw the fire wall?
Kranwa Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 Just wires going through the fire wall. The boost sensor is still in the engine bay
Tommo11 Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Finally out in my boost and egt guage, along with an egr blocking plate, now been spending last 2-3 days fine tuning the needle and dawes valves !! Pain finding the sweet spots !!
Rumcajs Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 Decided to change brake pads all over before Easter trip. Interestingly found that aftermarket pads might not be necessarily better from how much material they contain. Genuine pads front 12 mm aftermarket 9-10 mm, rear 10 mm aftermarket 8 mm. Makes me wonder what is going on. Well time will tell if it was the good decision to go with these fancy Bendix hybrid pads. They certainly have less "meat" on them than genuine Nissan ones.
Rumcajs Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Replaced another battery, the main one this time, I'm so over this shyte, so far 5 batteries in 5 years........Bought classic vented lead acid one instead of those crap MF sealed POS. Seems like my shitbox runs on lead acid fuel, lol.Cheers

Seems like my shitbox runs on lead acid fuel, lol.Cheers Mate... Have you added the extra earth between chassis and battery negative...seems like its running down... My 2003 had a similar issue when I got it and did thus, no new batteries since... The aux can get hot. Was recommended to get a hybrid..and add heat shield. Did that and all good...
Rumcajs Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) I have fitted several earth cables already, one between chassis and body and another between engine, chassis and body.I did fit heat shield to the aux battery now too. I think 2 batteries were cooked and drained dead too often, one got shaken to bits during Simpson Desert crossing and one simply failed (poor manufacturing perhaps) and I had to replace the OEM battery after 8 years of flawless performance. I went back to old style wented caps flooded type as Patrol has zero capacity left in its alernator for the fancy new types with higher charging rate.Regards Edited September 6, 2015 by Rumcajs
skid Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) Took off the bent side steps and put rock sliders on it.... Edited August 16, 2015 by skid
Rumcajs Posted September 6, 2015 Report Posted September 6, 2015 Replaced failed Auber red boost gauge with the blue one, rewired ignition signal to fuel pump from wiper motor to "spare" dif lock solenoid harness conveniently fitted by Mr Nissan but sitting in there idly....Another CC idea fcuk up (used the intercooler fan wiring which is no longer used/removed for electric lift pump) using wiper motor ign signal as a source! WTF! Everytime wipers are on the voltage drop caused the signal to fail ......Cheers
Paul Posted October 18, 2015 Report Posted October 18, 2015 Finished putting the Redarc Toe Pro in for the camper trailer, have to tune it in still.

Jimithewrench Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Just found out my a/c compressor has seized, and Nissan want to charge me $1300 plus labour and gas to replace it ?
skid Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Just tried shorting the wires on the water in fuel circuit but the engine light came on not the water in fuel light, so they must have stuffed something up when they did the conversion from a zd30 to a td42, but at least I have some form of light on the dash coming on, engine light is better than nothing.....

Paul Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) Installed Braintech power board in rear, replaced one of the cig outlets with dual USB. Edited November 6, 2015 by Paul skid 1
Rumcajs Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 I've got the same Baintech panel, you had good idea to convert one of the sockets to USB charging output, where did you source USB sockets from? Regards
Paul Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 I got it from TJM @ cooper plains $30 bucks. Just watch your amps with usb ports as there are different sizes for min power rate on usb iteims. This is a 1.5 amp witch will does charge my Samsung 5 phone. You can get larger ones up to 2.5amps. Seen one that had both 2.5 and a 1.5amp.
