Rumcajs Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) Changed oil and filters, finally fitted spill line mod. Edited November 9, 2013 by Rumcajs
Rumcajs Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) Bought replacement fan for intercooler (old one is rattling in to pieces) and spare 17 alloy wheel (Nissan). Already had spare tyre (Bridgestone D693) so now fitted it together with another spare which was never used since new from factory. So now have 2 new wheels/tyres on the rear axle. Rumcajs Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Ripped out wiring for aux battery, replaced burned out Redarc solenoid (dodgy installation by prior owner/s I guess they had it done by some superstar profesional sparkie ) , fitted 2 circuit breakers, fitted heatshield to aux battery and replaced crappy factory earth/ground terminal. All ready for wiring it up next.     Â
Rumcajs Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Finished off dual batteries wiring... Â Â Â Â Â Â BigGQWesty 1
Rumcajs Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Fitted one of these -->   Pity about fecking around because hole for the locking clip is too small (it costs per mm to manufacture me guessing) and chasing right terminals (couldn't include them in the box it would break the bank I suppose )   Off to chase Engel fridge power plug to graft on to Waeco fridge power cord....Yay  Its never ending  Cheers
BigGQWesty Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Was looking to those panels, but dam there expensive. Why not get an Anderson and graft into it??Kallen WestbrookOwner ofWesty's Accessories
Rumcajs Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Finally replaced and moved trailer socket to more secure location .     Geez, this looks like my personal built thread  No one is doing anything to their Patrols eh.... Edited December 9, 2013 by Rumcajs

If so, any dramas fitting them? Straight fit? Â Cheers
Fathom Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Are those sliders from Bolsy's? If so, any dramas fitting them? Straight fit? Â Cheers Yep they are Bolsey's. The seemed to fit ok. I had a mate help me fit them about 18 months ago. I did have to cut an exhaust mount to fit them, however it's an after market system so that could go either way. More the point I took them off cause they were incredibly rusty. I touch them up if I scratch them, (I opted for the painted ones so I would be able to touch up scratches etc, as opposed to powder coating) and there is no rust anywhere else on my truck, but I took I grinder and a hammer to these today... they were that rusty I was bashing rust scale a mil or two thick off with a hammer. No idea why they corroded so badly, but I soaked them in rust converter , and painted them with rust converter/primer. Hopefully I won't have to do it again.
Rumcajs Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Oops, that's not good that rust. So it has either been some manufacturing issue (surface preparation)or you spend a lot of time on the beach, LOL. I've been eyeing those slider for a while now, this makes me think twice, I frequently visit beach so now I'm not so sure. Have you asked Bolsy about that? Â Cheers
Fathom Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Yeah I do spend a bit of time on the beach. Personally I think it was surface prep. I did think about ringing and discussing it with him but figured it would just go round in circles. To be honest I wouldn't be put off buying them, they are solid, welds seem good... Seem to reasonably thick steel. (I am not gonna cut through one to check ) but they are heavy. I would just paint them really well before you put them on. Other people seem happy with them.. So my sliders might be just a rare exception . Cheers Rumcajs 1
Fathom Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) Put the sliders back on today... While I was messing with paint.. I repaint the rear bar- colour match to the sliders... Re rust proofed and re painted the undercarriage. All ready for Fraser Island after Christmas. Here is one of my dogs showing me where I should lie to do up the last few bolts... 06_Patrol Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Fitted Nissan branded Bullbar, nice score for $150. BigGQWesty 1
Rumcajs Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Replaced dodgy IC temp switch   Added another earth lead/strap between chassis and body, one can never have enough earth straps on Patrol, LOL.  BigGQWesty 1
Rumcajs Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 Measured the length of the Patrol, need to go on a ferry to KI and they want to know if it is standard car of 5 meters. Well it is without the the spare wheel hangin' off the rear door. otherwise it is 5.2 m. Â Cheers
HotCol Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Had the Nads done its now awesome 13.5/100 down to 10/100 ,and super smooth now, 2 stage boost control, young mechanic very switched on. Egr plate dawes valves pyro gauge and boost gauge . catch can next.

Waza Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 Put new shoes on the troll, hankook 285-75-16. Really smooths out the bumps for a more comfy ride ! $260 each fitted & balanced. Cheers
Thomson Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Installed a catch can, 3 inch redback extreme exhaust and electric brake system. busy day. Â
Rumcajs Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 Found out that my barn door is cracked, suffers from "the spare wheel mounted on the door and POS Japanese engineering" syndrome. Â So removed the door carrier bracket and chucked the spare inside for the time being, time to hunt for the rear bar wheel carrier combo and figure out how to fix the crack. More money to waste on the lemon, yay! Â Also checked the rock sliders/steps fitment all seems good. Â Cheers
Rumcajs Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Finally managed to fit this garbage from MCC. What a rubbish product! The saga deserves it own build thread for sure.... The absolute piece of chit. Don't buy anything from those cretins! Regards Â
BigGQWesty Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 So it sounds like your having fun lol..
