Bought replacement fan for intercooler (old one is rattling in to pieces) and spare 17 alloy wheel (Nissan).

Already had spare tyre (Bridgestone D693) so now fitted it together with another spare which was never used since new from factory. So now have 2 new wheels/tyres on the rear axle.

Ripped out wiring for aux battery, replaced burned out Redarc solenoid (dodgy installation by prior owner/s I guess they had it done by some superstar profesional sparkie  :angry: ) , fitted 2 circuit breakers, fitted heatshield to aux battery and replaced crappy factory earth/ground terminal. All ready for wiring it up next.

Fitted one of these -->

Pity about fecking around because hole for the locking clip is too small (it costs per mm to manufacture me guessing) and chasing right terminals (couldn't include them in the box it would break the bank I suppose :huh: )

Off to chase Engel fridge power plug to graft on to Waeco fridge power cord....Yay

Its never ending :(

Are those sliders from Bolsy's? If so, any dramas fitting them? Straight fit?   Cheers Yep they are Bolsey's. The seemed to fit ok. I had a mate help me fit them about 18 months ago. I did have to cut an exhaust mount to fit them, however it's an after market system so that could go either way. More the point I took them off cause they were incredibly rusty. I touch them up if I scratch them, (I opted for the painted ones so I would be able to touch up scratches etc, as opposed to powder coating) and there is no rust anywhere else on my truck, but I took I grinder and a hammer to these today... they were that rusty I was bashing rust scale a mil or two thick off with a hammer. No idea why they corroded so badly, but I soaked them in rust converter , and painted them with rust converter/primer. Hopefully I won't have to do it again.

Oops, that's not good that rust. So it has either been some manufacturing issue (surface preparation)or you spend a lot of time on the beach, LOL.

I've been eyeing those slider for a while now, this makes me think twice, I frequently visit beach so now I'm not so sure. Have you asked Bolsy about that?

Yeah I do spend a bit of time on the beach. Personally I think it was surface prep. I did think about ringing and discussing it with him but figured it would just go round in circles. To be honest I wouldn't be put off buying them, they are solid, welds seem good... Seem to reasonably thick steel. (I am not gonna cut through one to check ;) ) but they are heavy. I would just paint them really well before you put them on. Other people seem happy with them.. So my sliders might be just a rare exception . Cheers

Put the sliders back on today... While I was messing with paint.. I repaint the rear bar- colour match to the sliders... Re rust proofed and re painted the undercarriage. All ready for Fraser Island after Christmas. Here is one of my dogs showing me where I should lie to do up the last few bolts... post-244-138760106867_thumb.jpg

Measured the length of the Patrol, need to go on a ferry to KI and they want to know if it is standard car of 5 meters. Well it is without the the spare wheel hangin' off the rear door. ;) otherwise it is 5.2 m.

Found out that my barn door is cracked, suffers from "the spare wheel mounted on the door and POS Japanese engineering" syndrome.

So removed the door carrier bracket and chucked the spare inside for the time being, time to hunt for the rear bar wheel carrier combo and figure out how to fix the crack. More money to waste on the lemon,yay!

Also checked the rock sliders/steps fitment all seems good.

Cheers
