Yeah that would be great. So, why does the caliper need to move on the drivers side? I don't quite understand what the problem is.
-
Yeah, looking for the ute. I hate Patrol brakes
-
Wheels can come off, I won't be using them as I'm looking for GUIV or later alloys (maybe or alloy beadlocks??(money(i'm just not sure(damn)))), but currently only have 4 as when I had one break off (yes don't ask, my bad) it was damaged pretty bad.
-
But if they are fcked already, time to get new hubs. I tried manually locking mine after they started going poo, and it was no good, damage was done
-
At this stage, she is beyond complete, being dismantled and reassembled to close to standard plus some extras. I have a GU Ute so transfering most things across. I'll be starting a thread on that build shortly.

Duramax

Thats what I was trying to determine, but stupide head had no idea and was too stuborn to put me onto someone else. I'll call through parts tomorrow
-
Shane, I started a thread with pictures of the build. Not sure if you saw it or not?

The hubs come in two parts and are held together buy there small tapered Torx key bolts, the tapers on them are so big and make such a large surface area lock with the hub body, when I tried to undo them I couldn't and broke all my torx bits, ended up cracking the shits and smashing them off with a 4lb hammer. Ended up finding out they have such a large taper to stop them coming out when you don't do them up full on tight, it would pay to read the instructions

The shitty standard auto ones are most likely the cause. I ended up replacing mine when it started really clicking bad (talking bangs in the driveline) with the new Heavy Duty AVMs, no problems since (apart from installing them (my bad)).
-
Without the carriers on I can lift it by myself alright, probably about 50kg maybe a little more bare.
-
What type of hubs have you got, hubs are usually engineered to be the weakest spot in the drive line. Its not that hard to bugger standard ones and not really know

I rang Nissan today, spoke to the Service Lady, I asked to speak to the service department foreman, she said "no, I can answer your question". I said "fine, can the software on the ECU of the CRD Patrols be upgraded", she said "I'll check, [wait], there was no recall for the ECUs on the Patrols." I said, "Geez, you don't get it, you've now lost my custom, cya later". Stupid lady thinking she understands shit.

Yep as said by Nissan Aus

Very nice! I just picked up an 07 coil cab myself snd plan on setting it up very similar.

Upgraded ECU hardware or software?

If you disconnect injectors one by one, you need to have a damn accurate way of measuring or comparing rev drops per inject as its not like an injector for CRDs stop, they run inefficiently. A 5% drop in pressure from the nozel of a CRD injector is a pretty damn significant drop. The only way I see them being properly tested is to pull them out and bench test, by the time you do this, you may as well do an exchange and swap a new/reco set in. CRD is a very presice technology, when it starts to wear it has significant performance drops. So back to the original post, did the first of the CRDs have different injectors and commonrails?

Well, welcome Dave. To add an Avatar, click your username up the top right hand corner of the page, then 'My Settings' and the first option in the page is the 'Change Picture' option. Garage is not yet active AFAIK

I have found another little issue. Sometimes when I click "View New Content" it comes up with a Members list, then I click it again and it then gives me the new posts. Just a little thing I thought I would post.

Nice rig and photos Dave!

Interesting, I have replaced CRD injectors in Mercs and Toyotas before. Mercs are by far the worst injectors of anything I have ever done on any vehicle. You almost have to sacrifice the head and valve cover to do an injector change. No harm in playing

Yeah, waiting to see what this $4k a month buys

Already have a tow bar. I have a mate that has first dibs if he wants to pay And it saved my neck, had a wheel come off, lost all the nuts but had four studs undamaged (thanks to alloy wheels) and ended up using the spares. Worked awesome

x2 I wanna know too. I now have a white Patrol and I loathe white
