  1. Helz yeah! I'm actually going back to the shops to buy stuff now. Warn XD9000 winch, secondhand, no cable, control box and not serviced (looked very average) sold for $900 the other day! Buy a cable, control box, fairlead, and service it and you could have bought a XP9.5! Some people are bonkers! I by cheap stuff I had no use for off eBay, then list it again straight away (but a little better) and would make a pretty damn good profit (enough to by a Dirt Bike), but now it seems everyone is catching on to how to use it properly and when to list stuff.
  2. I have one too and it has spent 70% of its playing life in my carS gloveboxes and only skipped once in my BMW sedan when I jumped a wash out in Noojee
  3. I really like how these work, I've always prefered Pioneer for their userability so I'm a little biased. They are no where near as expensive as equivalent branded stuff, but obviously more expensive than the chinese stuff of eBay. They have a very good sound quality, they have a good power rating (what are the chinese thingos putting out?), they allow usage of a subwoofer (does a chinese thingo?) and I have never had a Pioneer headunit fail on me, not even a button or function through dust and mud, they always worked for me. If you can get one from overseas make sure the frequencies are the same, and I wouldn't be too hesitant as they will last, if they fail in two year or more, they are cheap on eBay and new functions get added each year without going up in price. Therefore you'll upgrade or pick up the same thing for next to nothing. I bought last years single din media centre (top line one with a 3" screen) and it was $200, all works perfect, came in original box with everything, bargin! But if you like the thought of warranty, please don't let me turn you off it.
  4. Desert tracks every state has open (unless actually unsafe), they aren't worth a pittance IMO. Mountain tracks like those on the Great Dividing Range are the true 4wd challange in this country! I've always had the assumption that if you close of one track you encourage traffic on another, this then degrades the other causing a flow on effect until all are closed (QLD and Glasshouse). Victoria (and maybe Tas to a degree) take an active role in conservation of access, rather than conservation of weeds, introduced pest animals, etc (stupid tree huggers). They actively close and open the tracks to maintain some level of accessibilty and even do maintenance to the most difficult of tracks including but not limited to Dingo Hill (my new Favourite), Trig, Wesburn/Warburton area, Bunyip, Dargo area, Blue Rag, Frenchmans Spur, etc. Even the most abused tracks close to Melbourne's East were people actually test drive full on race ready comp trucks, such as Ellis Track, Cemetary Track and Burns Track in Wesburn/Warburton, Bunyip state forest, etc, are all open to the public for some time of the year. MANY cars have seen death on these tracks, they would have to be the most challenging public tracks in Australia, but yet they receive some maintenance and remain open. It is because the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environement understand that 4wders will be here no matter what, give them an area and concentrate, contain and minimise the destruction. The costs of closing areas of, policing the areas, obtaining By-Laws to enforce the restricted access, etc is almost not worth it and just moves people on to an area where they will cause destruction to something public that will have a larger cost of repair. I understand how this all works as I work in the area and have managed to open some areas of crown land that histroically have been closed off to the public, but have had a high amount of 'illegal' access. It is now costing us less to maintain not only the areas I have opened, but others as we are replacing less gates, fencing, signs, bollards, car parks, trees, etc, as we can spread people out rather than having one eyesore that gets all the local political and media attention. No use is not sustainable!
  5. In the wagon I have Pioneer 2DIN DVD/CD/Blah blah blah player, iPod in the glovebox, JVC 6" speakers front and rear, MTX 15" 1000W sub, Audioline 800W amp. In the ute, Pioneer Media Centre (no CD/DVD), iPod in the glovebox, JVC 6" speakers, Pioneer shallow 12" Sub and Alpine 700W amp. A lot may change in future.
  6. Facebook, Macs, eBay, email, forums, credit/debit cards, getting your name in the local rag, going to the shops, sending a text message, overseas holidays, etc are all things I have done for quite a while now and like millions of other people in the world and am yet to have my personal and home security breached or receive some sort of reporcuation due to the usage of such things, just like MILLIONS of others. A few slip ups (relative to the total number) in a world where the media and social networks cover anything and everything from someones fart to someone pimples, to a teen sending nudie shots to a 'friend', is not something to be concerned about. There are always going to be targets, so sacrifice the stupid.
  7. Fark it, we all live in the same world now, times are a changing and I'm yet to truely be convised that my security is being jeopardized.
  8. I do remember seeing something like that somewhere and generaly most people that post in the forums are those that don't know about chips, engine mods, etc. I'ld be guessing that more than 75% of ZD30 blow ups are non chipped.
  9. I'm dumb I post up pictures of me waving cash around. But not idiotic enough to say where. There are always going be dregs that say things that'll get them in trouble, Facebook is just another medium to speed up the process.
  10. My DI blew its shit prior to being chipped.
  11. Haha, that was pretty damn impressive!
  12. Aha, and its not a CRD either
  13. I'm a bit aprehensive now, I think I'll wait and find out what is going on.
  14. I'm asking myself why is it for sale?
  15. Fek, bring on next week then!!!!
  16. Am I missing something?
  17. Your getting rid of your Chip It? Or getting rid of another brand of chip?
  18. Looked at the wagon and ute, thought I really should be mucking around with them, then back to the computer for uni work
  19. 2002 is a GUII I think. If it has the clear plastic lenses (no relfective ripples on the lens) and round(ish) indicators and parker lights on the head lights and altezza style tail lights it is a GUIII, it it doesn't and has headlights like the one above, it is a GUI (RD28) or GUII (ZD30)
  20. They have grey imports until GUIII, GUIV I think was only UAE and Europe (LHD)
  21. There is wanting one and then there is willing to pay for one. If Nissan bring them into Aus, I reckon you'ld be looking at a pretty decent price tag as I don't think they make them in right hand drive anymore.
  22. These Ridge Ryder winchs from Supercheap look the same as the older model Aldi winches http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Ridge-Ryder-9-500Lb-12V-4WD-Recovery-Winch.aspx?pid=219721#Description
  23. Were to what? Not sure what your getting at there matey. Its not suprising that something selling locally is $1000 and eBay is $300 (by the way, I ment SuperCheap has them for $300 not just eBay). The overheads Australian retailers need to account for more than triples prices on a lot of things. You just need to compare things that get made in China and sell in the US to compare how much we get ripped. So RedRyder winches (or what ever the brand is called), are pretty alright looking winches and are cheap and avaliable at SuperCheap Auto. Although I have not had a chance to pull one apart.
  24. Yeah they are like $300 buck or so
  25. I have only seen one TD42T GU shorty on Trademe.co.nz, they do exist!
