Anyone have standard 16" alloys off a GUIV or later?
GPSTI replied to heyhey's topic in Tyres & Wheels
Maybe they're 16" Navara/Pathfinder rims? -
Ha, I got a special mention When the administration of a community conjours up visions of a Blue Oyster Club, I get the hell out of there, and make sure I don't need to go back for anything....... Be interesting to know their response to your deletion instruction - I just have the feeling you're warming up your ammo and checking with the relevant department already

Si I guess the olive branch you held out to the mods (to be mods on here) is now withdrawn, haha......

There are a number of threads containing posts from members who have been banned !!!! We should have a central repository for the bretheren I claim member number 1 of the Bad Boys Club

I made an aluminium drift to get the factory ones out the first time - it increased in diameter under the pressure and caused shavings off the outside, so I guess that helped to get the bushes out without damage. They went back in easily enough, probably because they were already a bit compressed from the first installation - still well and truly tight enough to stay in place. A good squirt of lubricant doesn't hurt either. The steel cases are still very thin, mine are Dec 2010 build. The caster bushes had much thicker steel outer walls. Edit. Forgot to mention - they are also tapered, and are directionally inserted into the arms. Easy to spot the direction from the slight chamfers.

I've done mine 3 times ..... but I started with a new vehicle so the nuts weren't too hard to get off, I just used a ring spanner. Why 3 times - first time to install caster bushes, which chewed out in no time, partly because I bought cheapies and partly due to the extra flex from the 2" flexycoils and 4" shockers. Second time to replace them with caster bushes, could only get Repco nolethanes at Charleville, which had already started chewing out by the time I got back to Melbourne. Third time to put the originals back in. All this in about 10000k. Theyre starting to slide in more easily

The comments remain in the control of the user who posted them, as evidenced by the fact that there is an option to edit or delete a post, and the option is there to delete threads started by the user (including any replies by others). Thus, by providing the forum tools to take these actions, the forum agrees that the user can make use of those facilities. You are right, the terms of joining the forum allow the owner/admins the right to ban without explanation, after which, of course, you can't get on to remove your posts. After they discovered that I had removed all my stuff (they must get a report of these actions otherwise how would they have known) that has probably resulted in them banning everyone who has said an unkind word in the last 3 months of virus attacks and other b/s, in case they do the same. I don't understand what you mean about starting a "war". What has happened over there has happened, and there appear to be some hysterical reactions by their admin. A bit like grabbing all the marbles and running home to mum, saying I won't play with you lot again. Who loses?

My ban's better than yours

I spent a bit of time over the weekend cleaning out all my posts. After reading this thread I just tried to log in and was presented with this little gem! According to the mods I have "damaged" the knowledge base. Seems they think they own my contributions.

Removing the locking mechanism is easy. Take off the hub, flick out the auto ring mechanism (it will be obvious when you are looking at it) with a lever. Replace hub. Go and buy a cheap socket and weld an arm to it so you can keep it in your door sill, rather than having to hunt down the wheel wrench from inside the pouch in the back. Get dirty every time you have to get out and lock/unlock the hubs.

This one's not exactly between the two locations, but not too far from the airport. http://maps.google.com.au/maps/place?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=RooDogs+4WD+Spares&fb=1&near=Campbellfield+VIC&ei=282wT5PnBsSriAfpx9naCA&ved=0CAQQkQMwCw&cid=18424976889175478736 Never been there so don't know what their stuff is like, or what their prices are.

Is it possible that the poor fuel economy of some CRDs is due to the injectors not being set properly to the ECU? What sort of diagnostics is required to check this - presume only Nissan service centres have it?

There have been many variations of implementing this system. The system I have built is based on the work of many others on here http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/nissan-patrol-gu-gr-10/patrol-auto-converter-lock-up-11914/ I have just finished putting it all together after procrastinating for months, since electronics is not my strong point. But it was successful, and I'm happy with the result. I made a version that takes a feed from the Vehicle Speed Sensor so that the system stays in factory mode until the speed is over 60kph, when it is possible to switch the override on and lock the converter. When speed drops below 55kph, the system disarms, so you can't leave it locked when it shouldn't be. Here's the circuit I used, you can find all the part numbers on the other thread and then you can see whose work I have based it on.

I just tested and was able to log in again.

I've had enough of the other one - patience is completely exhausted. I can handle the viruses, but being locked out is pretty much the same as the forum owner telling everyone to piss off. When (if) eventually we can log in again, I intend to copy whatever worthwhile stuff I've posted and delete all the rest, if that's possible.

Final straw for me, as well. If the other site ever gets back up, well - why bother.
